Important Note: The list of selected candidates for the various Integrated M.Phil-P.hD and Direct P.hD programmes of the Institute is displayed below. Preliminary instructions (related to verification and further process) have been included within the list of each campus. Additional details and detailed instructions related to verification of documents will also be put up on Monday, 13 April 2015. Selected candidates must read the instructions provided clearly before contacting the person concerned at their respective campus.

Important Note: The list that Candidates appearing for Women studies, Development Studies, Habitat Studies, Disaster Management, Education, Management and Labour studies and Inclusive Development & Social Justice must reach the TISS Nairoji Campus (new campus) and report to the respective school secretariats at 9.40 a.m. Candidates appearing for PI in Health Systems Management, Media and Cultural studies, Public Health, Social Sciences (they must ask for Doctoral Students Office) and Social Work must reach the TISS main (old) campus and report to the respective secretariats by 9.40 a.m.
Special instructions for MLS Direct PhD PI applicants: All candidates who are appearing for the PI for Direct PhD in Management and Labour studies must prepare a 10 minute ppt for presentation before the interview panel.

  • Please note that the above list for Hyderabad Campus only consists of candidates who have been shortlisted to appear for the PI on basis of their RAT score. The PI evaluation will be taken into consideration only for the candidates appearing in the above list. The application of other candidates who have written the RAT at Hyderabad Campus on 13 Feb 2015 and/or have completed their PI at Hyderabad Campus on 14 Feb 2015 but whose name does not appear in the uploaded list have not been shortlisted for further evaluation. Additionally, of the shortlisted candidates, those who have completed their PI have been indicated as yes in the last column while those who are due to appear for the PI have been indicated as NO. TISS NET 2015 WILL NOT HAVE NEGATIVE MARKING FOR ANY PROGRAMME INCLUDING HRM. CANDIDATES WHO HAVE APPLIED FOR A SINGLE PROGRAMME OR MULTIPLE PROGRAMMES WILL BE ATTEMPTING A SINGLE QUESTION PAPER WITH 100 QUESTIONS FOR A DURATION OF 100 MINUTES, THIS INCLUDES CANDIDATES WHO HAVE CHOSEN HRM IN COMBINATION WITH OTHER PROGRAMME/ PROGRAMMES.

INCOME CERTIFICATE NOTIFICATION FOR RESERVE CATEGORY CANDIDATES

Reserve category candidates who are facing issues in getting the required financial year's (2013 - 2014) Income Certificate can temporarily upload the valid Income Certificate issued by the Authorised Issuing Authority for Financial year 2012 - 2013.

These candidates who are uploading backdated (2012 - 2013) financial year's Income Certificate will get time upto 31st January 2015 to mail the required financial year's (2013 - 2014) Income Certificate on the following email ID : shinde@tiss.edu

Candidates who fail to email the required financial year's (2013 - 2014) valid Income Certificate by 31st January 2015 will NOT be allowed to sit for the Pre-Interview Test/GD & Personal Interview examination.

About TISS

The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established in 1936, as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work to meet the emerging need for trained human service professionals. TISS was one of the earliest institutions to be recognised as an institution Deemed to be University in 1964 to further teaching and research in the inter-disciplinary areas of Social Sciences. TISS is a centrally funded public university with the entire plan and non-plan grants provided by the University Grants Commission (UGC), Government of India (GoI) since 1964.

TISS has consistently worked for the promotion of sustainable and participatory development and creation of a just and equitable society. TISS has been engaged in research, policy support, programme development and evaluation, training, and advice on development interventions with the ministries and autonomous bodies of GoI; State Governments; bi-lateral and multi-lateral organisations; universities and institutions across the world; the non-government sector, industry, businesses at the national and international levels; and peoples’ groups and networks.

A high degree of freedom and autonomy shape the positive work ethos and creativity in the Institute facilitating strong linkages between education, research, field action and knowledge dissemination. TISS was awarded a 5-Star rating by NAAC in 2002. In 2009, the NAAC re-accredited TISS and placed it in Grade ‘A’ with a score of 3.88 out of 4—the second highest amongst all universities accredited by NAAC until now.
